Capacity Development
CHADET provides training and support for its local stakeholders to build confidence, sustain project activities, and find lasting solutions to local problems. We believe that empowering local stakeholders ensures the sustainability of key activities beyond the life of any single project.
Leadership Training
Raising awareness and critical thinking skills to facilitate social transformation.
DELTA Training
Development Education & Leadership Teams in Action
DELTA is our flagship training program aimed at building the capacities of development workers and community leaders. It introduces contemporary concepts and practices in social and community development.
The training goes beyond skills—it fosters a culture of critical thinking and enhances the ability of local actors to facilitate deep social transformation in their communities.
Community Structures
Strengthening grassroots organizations to serve as pillars of support for vulnerable children.
Role of Idirs
Historically established for funeral services, Idirs are evolving. With the advent of the AIDS pandemic, they began supporting affected families.
CHADET strengthens Idirs' institutional capacity to support children's education. Some partner Idirs now support thousands of children through to higher education levels.
Community Care Coalitions
Operative at the Kebele level, CCCs are voluntary associations organized to resolve social problems affecting children, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups.
They mobilize local resources and work closely with CSOs. CCCs have been successfully established and are operational in Amhara and other regions.
Ensuring Sustainability
To ensure the continuity of support systems after projects phase out, CHADET assists schools and Idirs in establishing reliable income streams.
Income Generating Activities (IGAs)
We help set up shops, communal showers, and toilets that serve the community while generating revenue.
Direct Impact
Income generated covers costs for scholastic materials and uniforms for vulnerable children who may not receive direct external support.
